Oyster Point Gallery Show

Diana P.Lang Photography

It’s an honor to have a photograph selected to hang in the “About Face Value” show at Oyster Point Gallery. A total of 18 local artists were chosen to display their art in the curated show. In 2009, The Oyster Point Gallery was created as a gallery for New Jersey artists to display and share their art. Exhibitions change every two months.

Curator for Oyster Point Gallery Ellen Martin says “Faces are our way into ourselves and out into the world. “About Face Value,” will be an exploration of the face (mostly human) by 18 artists working in many styles from analog photography to digital illustration.”

The image that was chosen from my work is part of a series of personal work titled “Reverie”. The quote which originally accompanied this image was “I take pleasure in my transformations” Anais Nin. The cloak is a way to easily transform, both literally and figuratively. I had the concept of this image for a long time but had to wait for a snow day to create it. My lovely model, Helene Bogeman, was more than willing to stand the cold for a little bit. Helene is a pleasure to work with and she has helped me transform my work.

The show will be installed on Monday, March 4, and the Opening Reception will be Friday, March 29, from 6 – 8 p.m.

The Oyster Point Hotel is located at 146 Bodman Place in Red Bank, NJ. The event is free and open to the public! Stop by the opening to meet the artists and view their work in person.
