Enable, Inc. announces its annual benefit gala, “The Roaring Funnies,” to be held on Friday, April 27 at Mercer Oaks Golf Course. The gala is a fundraiser for Enable’s program and services, which help children and adults with chronic disabilities and seniors live full and independent lives within the community. Sponsorships and advertisements are available for purchase; for more information go to Tickets can also be purchased through this website. Roaring 20s chic attire is optional!

Sherise “Sherry” D. Ritter, CPA, will receive the Enable Award for Advocacy at the Gala. As Managing Director and Practice Leader of Mercadien’s Nonprofit and Human Services Group, Sherry is a tireless advocate for nonprofits and organizations serving people with disabilities. She is dedicated to ensuring that nonprofits understand and adapt best practices, advising them on topics such as tax planning and preparation, cash flow management, identifying risk areas and formulating solutions, multi-state and unrelated business income taxation and filing exposures, and how to best maintain their exempt status and minimize taxes. Sherry enjoys educating the nonprofit community and presents on many topics, including best practices in board governance, risk assessment and management plans, benchmarking, compliance and fee for service billing, among others. Sherry serves on the board of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton, the MIDJersey Chamber of Commerce and the Mercadien Foundation. She is actively involved in nonprofit associations including the Center for Nonprofits, New Jersey Association of Community Providers (NJACP), and the New Jersey Association of Mental Health and Addiction Agencies (NJAMHAA).

The Riddlesbrood Theatre Company has produced over 1,500 shows in the past 18 years, consistently delighting audiences with their uproarious comedies. In The Roaring Funnies, crime pays off big time with shady characters, suspense, cheesy puns, special effects, and fun for everyone! The year is 1926 and two bumbling gangs duke it out for control of the bootleg business. The jokes and action are a blast — just remember to duck as there may be gunplay.
